The Society was previously known as The Bahrain-Japan Friendship Society (BJFS) and the official announcement was was published by The Ministry of Social Development in The Official Gazette, on August 21st, 2008.
Recently, The Ministry of Social Developement approved the Society\'s request to have its name changed to The Bahrain-Japan Business & Friendship Society (BJBFS). The announcement was published in The Official Gazette, Issue # 3015, dated September 1st, 2011.
BJBFS remains an independent, non-political, non-discriminatory, non-profit organization. All the Directors and BOARD Members serve voluntarily.
The Society was founded in 2008 by leading Bahraini businessmen as well as Japanese businessmen who were residing at the time, in the Kingdom of Bahrain. To-date, Members of The BJBFS include leaders in the business world, large industrial enterprises, banks, securities companies and business associations.
The vision of The BJBFS is to become a leading impact player in strengthening ties and enhancing the interest of its members, to cooperate and fulfill the Society’s objectives.
Since its establishment, the Society organizes and participates in various events, many of which include local events under the Patronage of various Ministers, dinner receptions at prestigious venues, invitations extended to leading Japanese and Bahraini dignitaries, notable speakers to deliver landmark speeches on different topics, cultural performance for all to enjoy, as well as delegations to and from Japan.
The BJBFS aims to further expand its activities in all spheres and also comprises of a number of Advisory Committees, to help strengthen ties in various fields such as, Industrial & Commercial, Educational, Banking & Finance, Events & Culture, Youth programmes, Business Development and Energy & Environment issues.
The BJBFS aims to constantly develop new areas of its Committees, to further enhance bilateral ties between Japan and The Kingdom of Bahrain.
